Jean-Raymond Garcia is responsible for the development of POETIK Film.
After studying public law and political science, he moved on to directing with a first short film ” Temps Mort ” co-written with Philippe Germain, then ” Un oiseau qui vole toujours à l’envers ” both produced by Stellaire Production. With ” Il n’y a rien à faire ” a 28′ fiction, co-written with Pierre Chosson, produced by Capharnaüm Productions, he received the CNC Quality Prize and the Screenplay Prize of the city of Clermont Ferrand. In 2008, he produced “Jeunes Pousses” a 5 x 26′ documentary series co-directed with Xavier Liébard. In 2017, he co-directs with Anne-Marie Puga his third fiction ” Un peu après minuit ” a 22′ scary film produced by Uproduction. Both of them are now writing their first feature film ” Les vulnérables “, supported by the Fonds F.I.L.M Nouvelle-Aquitaine – Aide au développement. In addition to his activities as writer-director-producer, Jean-Raymond Garcia is considered one of the main inspirers of territorial policies in favor of the audiovisual sector and as such has been associated with many emblematic first films of French cinema. Finally, he was Jury of the Gan Foundation for Cinema and more recently since July 2019 member of the commission of the 1st college at Cinéma du monde.
